Uprzejmie zapraszamy na Środowiskowe Seminarium Fizyki Ciała Stałego i Seminarium ACMiN, które odbędzie się w środę 28 listopada 2018 r. o godz. 9.00 w Sali Audytoryjnej ACMiN AGH na II piętrze budynku D-16 (ul. Kawiory 30).

Referat pod tytułem "Spin waves in nanoscale – interesting physics with prospect for application" wygłosi Prof. dr hab. Maciej Krawczyk (Faculty of Physics, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan).

Streszczenie:

Spin waves span a broad range of frequencies from hundreds of MHz up to tens of GHz with the respective wavelengths ranging from micrometers to nanometers. The spin wave spectrum can be tuned by external magnetic field and also depends on the magnetization configuration. These properties are desirable in microwave and information processing technologies, and are in focus of our investigations in magnonics. Starting from basics of the magnonic band structure formation, opening magnonic band gaps, and selected methods of its induction in thin ferromagnetic films, e.g. by antidots etching, bi-component structures, magnetic domains or dynamic dipolar coupling, I will present the results of our studies under tailoring of the spin wave spectra in ferromagnetic thin films with periodic and quasiperiodic patterns. The effects of non-reciprocity in the magnonic spectra, directional couplers for spin wave transduction and spin wave beam formation will be explored for potential utilisation.
