ACMiN Seminar: „Bio-aerogels: new polysaccharide highly porous materials”

It is our pleasure to invite you to attend the Krakow Condensed Matter Seminar which will be held on Thursday, November 4th at 2.00 p.m. in the ACMiN auditorium no.: 1.02A on the second floor, bldg. D-16 (Kawiory Street 30). Alternatively, you can join the meeting via the link below:

The lecture entitled „Bio-aerogels : new polysaccharide highly porous materials” will be given by Prof. Tatiana Budtova (Center for Materials Forming, Mines ParisTech, Sophia Antipolis, France) who will join us online.

Abstract:

Aerogels are open-pores low density (around 0.1 g/cm3) nanostructured materials with very high internal surface area (several hundreds of m2/g). We use polysaccharides without any chemical modification to make bio-aerogels. The preparation and properties of bio-aerogels will be presented, and their use for bio-medical applications will be discussed.
