The goal of the symposium is to bring together the Polish and European research community, with a focus on the physical and chemical foundations of new computing techniques that go beyond the traditional von Neumann architecture, often referred to as unconventional computing. This topic is of growing significance, given the increasing demand for computational power (especially due to AI) alongside the urgent need to address the climate crisis and reduce energy consumption. As a result, it has garnered increasing interest from research groups in Poland and across Europe.
The symposium will feature five thematic topics: 1. quantum computing, 2. neuromorphic computing, 3. reservoir computing, 4. spintronics/orbitronics and 5. biocomputing/molecular computing.
The event will take place in the historic and beautiful city of Krakow. To accommodate many researchers and students, the symposium will be held over a short duration. It will begin on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 14:00 AM (to allow participants to travel to Krakow) and will conclude on Friday at approximately 2:00 PM.
